The Things that Could Be

Hi readers! It's been quite a while again since the last post (about a month). And just like I said in the comment of my last post, nothing really happens between us afterwards. It was probably my fault for not being there for her, but the difference in timezone at that time was really going to affect my work if we were to keep up our same routine when we were only 2-3 timezones away. Anyway, she's taken so that's probably for the best. Today's post wasn't supposed to be about her. It's about what I felt every time during this time of the year. What's with around this time of the year, you ask? It's the Vesak season, you uneducated moron (jk, I understand Buddhism doesn't get as much love in the "west" compared to other Asian religions. Funny that I used the word "west";  she was always so worked up every time I used the word to generalize cultures that are not "Asian"). Anyway, I digressed. Around this time of th...

Opening Up

Hi readers! It's been a while since the last post, hasn't it? How many times have I been using that opening line lol. Anyway, I just met up with her again. I wasn't sure why she still wanted to meet me; we planned to meet the week before because it's been quite a while since the last time we caught up, but she cancelled it last minute. We then caught up on one of the weekdays, but it was a rather short one because we had other things to do. I thought it was good enough, and thinking of calling it off; but I thought I guess it doesn't hurt to have another chat with her again and so we met again this afternoon. Turned out to be quite an eventful catch up. Finally after years of being mum about it, I shared the story that I've been trying hard to forget; the story about the girl I chased when I was in secondary school. I sieved through my old posts and shook (sorry for the lingo) that I have never actually written about her AT ALL. Am I really in denial so muc...

Post-Meditation Camp Reflection

Hi readers! It is the end of the year, and I believe most people would be preparing their new year's resolution right around this time. I, on the other hand, have another thing occupying my mind. I have just returned from a 6-days meditation camp at Puncak, and that trip, despite its shortcomings, was nothing less than insightful for me. I understand that I (again) have abandoned this blog for almost 3 months now (last post was on October, I was surprised myself) and I would not do justice if I do not attempt to bring you readers up to speed as of what I have been doing and stuff, but I was doing exactly just that in another blogpost draft and I can't seem to finish what I intended to write in the first place. So now I shall start straight away with what I needed to write down first, and perhaps, close it with some personal updates. The camp was organized by the Vihara I often go to whenever I am in my home country. The camp itself was held between 22-27 December, targeted...

Hot, Sleepless Night

Hi readers (if any)! To make up for the big gaps in between my last few posts, I am currently trying to post more often! (No, actually I am writing this now because I cannot sleep because the weather is freaking HOT!) Reason for this post aside, I do have some things in mind that I would like to share to the readers (again, if any) and of course, myself. (Sharing thoughts to yourself? Just what the hell does that even mean?) So yeah, it is Saturday night. Just watched Spiderman 2, it was pretty cool and all. But that is not the point of my post tonight (then why bother writing it?) I have been missing Sunday service (I am a Buddhist by the way) for the last couple of.... months, I guess? Anyway, it feels really odd not to attend Sunday service for this long. I guess that is what an old habit does to you when you grow up. (I have always been going to Sunday service every Sunday when I was little). Again, it is not the point of the post. I suddenly remembered, for no reason, a t...

Personal Feels Trip to the Alma Mater

Image
Hi readers!! Once again, a long while after the last post. I am so sorry for that, I am really, like really, busy such that I do not have any time to spare to blog. Now that the semester has ended (there is still finals though, but that is still (only?) a week away~) I can spare some time to write something. And just nice, I have something to say as well! Okay so basically, today (by the time this is posted is yesterday) I went back to my secondary school, SJI - that's St Joseph's Institution, in case you don't know - to attend a farewell concert. The concert is in conjunction with the moving of the campus as it is going to be renovated. The school is going to be moved temporarily to another campus in Bishan (I think it is used to be an ITE or something) for a couple of years. Shortly, I was a sort of..... fooled(?) by the nice-looking e-mail invitation, thinking it is some kind of grand concert that would take place in the PAC (Performing Arts Centre) or something, where o...

I am getting skinnier

Hi, readers! I am sorry if I have made you all curious about my seemingly perfect past life because of the previous post, and yet have yet to continue my story. Unfortunately, this post is not about that. I am currently addicted to an old-school game "Yugi-Oh! Duel Academy" on GBA (of course I am playing it on my computer using emulator) and thus much of my time is wasted playing. Actually, it is possible that I am indulging myself in old-school games as an escape from my current rather miserable life. Not extremely miserable actually, but I have the tendency to exaggerate my troubles in my own mind. That reminds me. I just attended a sort of reunion with my 4-year scholar friends. It is really nice to see some of them again after so many months. Some were in China, rendering them not contactable via Facebook. Some others, to be honest, I do not really care to keep in touch with them. I just do not quite clique with them and I do not see the point pretending or attempting to ...

My seemingly perfect past life (part 1)

Continuing from my previous post, I managed to convince my father (or rather, made my father felt guilty, thus granting my wish) to meet my friends in the afternoon, leaving the event halfway. As a substitute, my younger sister took my place. I did not know if she enjoyed herself there, but I knew that she enjoyed the food and the room. Unfortunately for her, it is me who get to stay in the room, not her. *evil laugh* Anyway, I am writing this not for the sake of explaining what I meant by "not" on my previous post . There are more things I would like to write down; things that often disturb my mind. It is about the past and my personalities. It was actually because of the communication skills seminar I attended last night that made me think about this again. The main aim of the seminar was to teach those doctors and nurses on how to communicate with their patients about a programme in which their clinical data would be collected for an international-scale research on diabete...
