One of Those Drunk (not) Posts

Hi readers! If you have not noticed (actually you definitely did), I changed the theme of my blog! This is actually a *confidential* template for the next generation of Blogger! Do let me know what you think in the comment if you have anything to say about the new templates, be it good or bad!! I believe there won't be a single comment on this post though, despite my call for comments just now but yeah at least I tried lol.  Oh and also I think some may find it irritating that the Contact Form is no longer there, because I know some people actually use it. Sorry, I really can't help it. The new template won't let me add that form. Well, to be honest, I have not really tried yet. So maybe you will see it again some time in the future (or maybe I revert back to the old one) Edit: managed to find where to add the gadgets. Now you need to click on the sidebar (the three lines on the top left of your screen) to see it. Too lazy to edit all my previous posts that refered to the C

Reflection: Ego

Hi readers! Seems like I've been trying to catch up with my lack of posts this year by posting in a window of 10 days before my last one (And contributing more to my lack of sleep)! But this is one of those midnight thoughts you have before you sleep, and I feel that it is too important to be let go and forgotten to the next day, so here goes. I thought I have written about this before, but apparently a quick search revealed that I didn't, but it seemed that I almost wrote about it but decided not to. To be exact, it was actually my first post ever . I remembered roughly what happened. I got into an argument with my friend, and he mentioned something that it was because I couldn't let go of my ego that I didn't manage to accomplish something. I knew he was right. However, I was probably in denial or something, I just got down and felt moody and stuff, just like what I wrote in the post. I didn't remember if I followed up after the realization, but probably not,

Fewest post in a year! + FYP rant

Hi readers! (...tumbleweed...) It's almost the end of the year (not really, still 2 months away, but pretty close) and I realized that I have only posted for like 6 times this year!! Damn.. That's like less than once a month.. What happened to the promise to my friend that I am going to post at least once a month/week? (I can't even remember the promise anymore, nor can I find the post where I mentioned this... Can anyone of you readers help me find it lol) Anyway...

TFW You Realize You Were Dense AF

3 months have passed since the last time I updated my blog. Damn, how time flies! There were a couple of times when I had the urge to post something when I encountered something interesting, but I was either too busy or too lazy and now I have already forgotten what it was about... But now I am having another urge to post something and I happen to be right in front of my computer with Internet connection so.. why not.

The Family Trip to China

Hi readers! Not a very long hiatus between posts this time round, eh? Count yourselves lucky, because I decided to update my blog just to keep a journal of something that happened last week. Just to give you a background information, I flew to Tianjin, China last Wednesday and just returned today.  The plan was for my family (and I) to attend my elder brother's graduation ceremony but because we bought our tickets before the graduation date is confirmed, it turned out that the graduation would be on Sunday and we already purchased our return tickets on Saturday. Despite the trip being extremely exhausting, things did not go as planned, and we ended up not doing what we intended to do for the trip (attending the graduation) it was nevertheless a fulfilling one for me.

First Day at Google Sydney!

Hi readers! As you might have read in my previous post , I was offered an internship position in Google Sydney this summer (or winter, down here). And today is my first day at work! I'm sure all of you who read this blog must be waiting for this post! So here it is! Before I start on my story about Google, let me start with my first impressions of Australia and its people. To give you some background, I have never been to a "Western" country my whole life, so it was really quite an experience when I first arrived there. I already had some expectations of how Australians would be (the usual "Western" stereotypes: very cheerful, friendly, talks a lot, etc..). And they really are; I was picked up by the AIESEC people in the Kingsford Smith airport. They were just like those stereotypes I just mentioned lol. Not that it is a bad thing, but I was really tired from the flight, so I was not ready to speak a less-Singlish English and to reciprocate their eagerness to

Not in My Wildest Dream: Google

Hi readers! Another long hiatus! And this time round I must say that I am REAL busy this semester, so much so that I was left with very little time on my own, which I spent doing something else other than updating this blog, because the little time I had was too short to do it. In case you are wondering why I have so little time this semester, refer to paragraph 2 of this post . So anyway, the purpose of me writing this blog (damn.. I have been writing one too many emails lately, and it affects my written language) is to let you all (or maybe just my future self) know that..... I was offered an internship at Google Sydney!!! Yep, you read that right. Me. Google. This summer.

A Message from An Unexpected Person

Hi readers! It feel so surreal to be finally back to Singapore and my busyness as an NUS student. Did I really go to China for an exchange last semester? Just slightly more than 2 months ago I was still there? Doesn't feel like it at all, especially when you are 5 km deep within seas of responsibilities and school work. Just to update you guys, I am enrolled in Facebook Open Academy programme through my university this semester. It is basically a programme where students work on an open-source projects and Facebook becomes the intermediary between the project owners/IC and the universities. It took quite a lot of my time as the demand from my university is quite high regarding this, and I have been under-delivering results. Also, I become a laboratory teaching assistant for Data Structures and Algorithm I course in NUS, which takes much more time than I expected. However, for the money (which I need desperately) I shall persevere! Now, I am 2 paragraphs in and not a ment
